We are giving birth to a new tab

Advent is a time of fallow, a time to ponder, to look inward, but also to dream, to plan, to take risks.

Our lives are like long periods of Advent, followed by much shorter ones of great light, of achievements, of reaching goals.

Every time we sense that something new may be born, we cherish it in our hearts, we think about it, and we feel it. Then we take the plunge… to see what happens.

The experience we had in the United States, both studying theology and doing pastoral work in English and Spanish, has been a gift. Lately, our collaboration with Global Sisters Report is also opening us up to a world without borders. We are taking a chance and opening our blog in English as well. Of course, some of them will be the first contributors, and then we’ll see where all this takes us.

We believe that opening ourselves up to people from many countries who have English as their first or second language can enrich us immensely.

We do not intend for our blog to be in two languages, but rather for each to follow its own path, although everything can be translated. Opening ourselves up to other cultures and the experiences of people in many countries has enriched us so much that we would like to share some of that with everyone.

We need to seek out experiences that unify us, counteract the intense fragmentation we experience at the political and social levels. Even at the spiritual and religious levels, ideologies destroy the possibility of unification.

The SFCC charism, “May all be one,” is both a real challenge and a call to smooth out differences and build bridges.

This humble initiative in this season of Advent and at this historic moment seeks to unite us in silence and in the Word. Also in action, creating around us communities committed to our concrete reality and to the entire planet.
